The Big Toe Pad
Focus on the big toe pad of both feet.
In gait, work on finishing the extension phase – when foot is behind you, pushing off the ground through the
pads of all five toes, ending with the big toe pad.
This uses glutes and all extensors in the body.
glute bridges is great, when doing this exercise, important to not let low back arch.
If low back arches hip flexors are being used.
Hip flexors and glutes are antagonists – meaning if one is contracting the other is not, they work opposite each other.
In most of us, the hip flexors are always contracting, even at rest, just our way with all our daily life requires more movements in front of our body
EXCEPT FOR WALKING – WHERE A BALANCE SHOULD TAKE PLACE IE: FINISHING YOUR STRIDE IN GAIT – USING BIG TOE PAD TO PUSH OFF GROUND.
